Which exam is your child taking?

Independent schools require either the SSAT or the ISEE, not both. The PSAT 8/9 is a school-administered practice test that many eighth graders sit.

SSAT

Verbal, Reading, Quantitative and a writing sample. Taken by students applying to independent middle and high schools.

ISEE

Verbal Reasoning, Reading, Quantitative Reasoning, Math Achievement and an essay. Required by a different set of schools.

PSAT 8/9

Reading and Writing, and Math. Sat in eighth or ninth grade. It is not the PSAT/NMSQT and does not count towards National Merit.

What you get that a question bank does not give you

Lessons that teach

A child who cannot yet do quantitative comparison does not need forty more quantitative comparison questions. They need to be taught the method once, properly, and then practise it. Our teacher-written lessons come first; the practice follows.

Every choice explained

Not "the answer is B". Every wrong answer carries its own explanation of why it is wrong and which misunderstanding leads there. Working alone, a child learns at the moment of the mistake or not at all, and an answer key does not teach.

Essays actually read

The SSAT and ISEE both require writing, and almost nothing on the market gives a child feedback on it. A pass includes twelve essay reviews, about one a week. A tutor charges $50 to $100 to mark a single essay. Reviews are AI-generated feedback, clearly labelled, and never presented as an official score.

What it will cost

$249 per exam for 90 days, one payment, for one learner. It covers every section of that exam and includes twelve essay reviews. Passes expire and never renew on their own, because a family does not need this after the test.

Weekly tutoring across the same 90 days runs from $720 to $1,800.

Being straight with you about what is not ready

We are still authoring this content, so there is nothing to buy today and no payment is collected anywhere on this page. When the first exam opens it will launch without timed sections and without a predicted score. We will not show you a number that looks like a real SSAT, ISEE or PSAT score until we have built the scoring properly.
